First off, let me say that Tuesday's ordeal went even better than we could have hoped. What they said they might find that would have meant the beginning of a life changing series of events (for the worse), they did NOT find and things are now much, MUCH better. I for one am a strong believer in the power of positive thought and I was overwhelmed by your incredible responses on Monday and I have no doubt that they all played a role, no matter how small, in restoring balance to my family's world. Thank you again and I am pretty sure I can now resume my normal duties. Lets start by congratulating Wharf for his team's outstanding performance as of late. Can't wait for the weekend (although my ability to participate in any of the Groks will be severly limited as my wife is still recuperating and I don't think that my spending 3 hours a night with you freaks is a wise use of my time this weekend, next one perhaps)
I've been blasting some choice Sugar Mags the past few days as that really seems to hit my feelings on the head. Thanks again, breathing again feels really good.

Man, that is great, great news! Good for her and for you, too. In all seriousness, indeed. I still feel like a jerk for my smartass remark the other day, and want to let you know that I recognize how stupid and inappropriate it was for me to throw down at that point. I was trying to be funny, witty, cute, some damned thing, but with your wife entering the hospital, the last thing you needed was someone saying she has to "live with your sorry ass," and I'm really sorry.

She's got everything delightful, she's got everything you need. And I'm sure she could the same of you. Best wishes!

Hey, no need to feel bad, my wife agrees with you 100%! Well, until I threatened to restrict the Percocets (hey, if you can't laugh at life, you are in big trouble)

It's all good, my brother.

If I tried to restrict that shit from my wife, I'd probably pull back a bloody stump.

Hey man that's GRATE news that all is well and going to fine.
You and Mrs. Hollow were deep in all of our thoughts here on the forum.

But as far as my team goes don't get to comfortable on your lofty perch!!! You are only renting that space! We will own by seasons end just like we have for the last 10 years man!
We are at rock bottom now..... Only place to go is up my friend! Watch out for this kid tonite Phil Hughes.
I don't think he'll be going back to minors anytime soon.
Plus we are getting healthy too.

Any way enough about baseball.
Extremely Happy to hear the Grate news on Mrs. Hollow!!!

Thanks, wharf. All the kind words are appreciated. As for this weekend's series, it appears that none of the games are currently scheduled for national broadcast, and seeing as how I'll be homebound helping the Mrs., I was forced to seek alternatives, and found the perfect solution: MLB.com is running a 5 day free trial of MLBTV.com where you can get live video streams of any out-of-market games. So it seems I will be enjoying the games on my desktop (and maybe, just maybe, grokking a little).

Sincerely glad to hear the good news, my friend. Been thinking of you the past few days. Give yourselves some quality time together and let this place take care of itself. (Does a good job of that, eh?)

Thanks for the positive thoughts, much appreciated, as propelling them across the pond must have taken a great deal of mental effort on your part, and we all know that Scots must preserve what intellectual energy they do have for more pressing tasks, such as prying open the last bottle, and managing to NOT urinate on one's shoes.

And yes, while this ship may list rather heavily to one side or the other from time to time, it always seems to right itself in the end.

'prying open the last bottle?' We just bite the necks off - chewing glass is what passes for sustenance around here.

Hey--the beauty of positive thinking is that it works for the sender and the receiver, eh? What a finer place the forum has been as a result...I like to think.

Good deal on the home front. Keep up the good work.

William - I hope SDH won't mind if I break in on his thread. Just wanted to say that I agree with you. Good can come out of bad and SDH and his wife's unfortunate travails have reminded us what makes this place a good and fine place to be. It's the community spirit, the caring for each other even at a distance, that keeps us coming back.

...with the Gold of sunshine.

Great, great news SDH. Waiting for what you're sure is going to be bad news, and then having it be GREAT news is a relief that cannot be described. To a point I know what you're going through, as my 89 yr old grandmother is ill & requires surgery---some sort of abdominal aneurism, if I heard it right. The surgeon isn't going to be operating for almost a week. I know this is due to the fact that they operate on the basis of who is sickest & is more likely to recover. An 89 yr old woman isn't likely to be high on these kind of priority lists, so it seems some of my family are preparing for the iminent.

But again, great to hear all will be well. Maybe if you're lucky she won't have take all of her pharmaceutical grade pain killers & will be nice enough to share the leftovers with you? I hope that didn't cross a line with you, but I was just trying to look at ALL of the positives of the situation---and pharmaceutical grade pain-killers are a positive in my book.

Peace.

You are welcome! It's the least we can do......

I know our forum mates would do the same for my family...which makes me feel really good about GD Forum.

I can't listen to SugarMags without thinking of my lovely wife and can think of no better song to pull you through. I hope order is restored to your family with this great breath of sunshine.

H-Flow, no doubt about it, you are candidate for stud of the year. And a great show at that. And a good run of Dead shows too. I always liked Shoreline and Set 2 of 5.12.91 has seen numerous spins in my cd decks.

Like you two, Beth and I came together with the love of live music. 11 yrs this year and still concert going fools. I wish you and Maggie many many more years together.

By all means, GOP, feel free to scour the depths of your intellect (in a pool that shallow it shouldn't take you too long) and let fly the arrows and barbs, for my skin is as thick as your integrity is thin.

There's something positive to be said for having "faith." We're all rewarded when our good thoughts and deeds turn for the better. Mama H. get well soon, cause Mr. Earl said so.
